28th-Jan-2009 01:40 am - HELP!
Hello friends, lovers, acquaintances and enemies (???).

HELP! Please, I need your help, whoever you are reading this right now. If you haven't already chanced upon my previous entry (CLICK HERE), let me give you a brief background on what it is I am referring to.

We recently found out that my friend (and kinakapatid) Andro has alports syndrome. ...WHAA--?? Well, in a nutshell, his kidneys are basically dying out.

Kidneys of a 90 year old in a 20-something year old's body, he said.

After the past few weeks of dialysis, doctors, donor-hunting, he's having his surgery tomorrow, JAN 29, 9AM Manila time.

This is where I am asking for your help, dear reader.

I need you to please help me pray for his successful surgery, that all goes well, that he regains his strength and health and that by September he'll be back here in Vancouver hanging out with his happy friends. I'm serious that i want a prayer rally going on for him. Please please!! Never underestimate the power of prayer!

I still cannot fathom the fact that this happens to people in their 20's--- the thought still terrifies me, really. It kind of makes me realize again that we ought to take care ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually, and never be complacent with God's gift of health and life.

Rather than feeling sorry for Andro, I actually have so much respect and admiration for him right now, as it seems that he's been praising God and His goodness even throughout this whole endeavour. Needless to say, I'm incredibly inspired by him.

Andro, this is for you! This is it, ready na, kayang kaya! :) Can't wait till our next kainan session, and so much kwentos to catch up on!

We miss you over here and love you lots; Rest assured our prayers are with you.

God bless!

14th-Oct-2008 08:01 pm - Live High
I try to picture a girl
through a looking glass
and see her as a carbon atom
see her eyes and stare back at them

see the girl
as her own new world
though her home is on the surface
she is still the universe

Glory God,
oh god is peeking through the blinds
are we all here standing naked
taking guesses at the actual date and time?
oh my, justifying reasons why
is an absolutely insane resolution to live by

live high, live mighty
live righteously
taking it easy
Live high, live mighty
live righteously

I try to picture the man
to always have an open hand
see him as a giving tree
see him as matter matter fact he's not a beast
no not the devil either
always a good deed doer
where its laughter that we're making after all

the call of the wild is still in ordination
while in the order of the primates
all the politics are too late
Oh my, the congregation in my mind
is an assembly-selling gratitude
in practice and in loving of you

Live high, live mighty
live righteously
taking it easy
Live high, live mighty
live righteously

and oh lets take it easy
and celebrate the malleable reality
because nothing is ever as it seems
and life is but a dream

Live high, live mighty
live righteously
taking it easy
Live high, live mighty
live righteously

let's take it easy
Live high, live mighty
live righteously
taking it easy
Live high, live mighty
live righteously

let's take it easy.

28th-Feb-2008 11:51 pm - "Not Quite What I Was Planning"
Tell me your life story in 6 words. Have you heard of this book?

About The Book
Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous & Obscure collects almost 1,000 six-word memoirs, including additions from many celebrities including Stephen Colbert, Jane Goodall, Dave Eggers, and more.

Surprisingly addictive, Not Quite is both a moving peek at the minutia of humanity and the most literary toilet reading you’ll ever find.

HMM.
I'll need more than 6 words, and GOSH this is addictive indeed. right now, i can sum up my life in 6 claim it to be:

"Always an unexpected surprise, despite efforts."

Strange, isn't it?
Each man's life
touches so many other lives.

When he isn't around
he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?

                    - Clarence the Angel, It's A Wondeful Life (1946)

theres a reason why we meet the people we do.

theres a reason why i met each and every one of you.

as it says above, we all touch so many other lives in different ways and we dont even know it.

God has a reason why he made our paths cross in this life. I dont know what that reason is just yet, but im quite certain its because eventually, God wants me to be happy. and God wants us all to be happy. :)

thank you all for being a part of my life.

If youre reading this, likely it is that I love you. :)

11th-Dec-2007 11:17 pm - Kid-spiration.
I wish I could go back to being a kid, where everything was so much easier, so much happier, so much more innocent than it is in the bitter, angsty, confused and sometimes emo stage of young adults, with fluctuating moods and feelings as our minds are being corrupted by the media and by everyone else who expects us to meet their expectations.

It's also amazing how kids, so pure, so simple, so real, can inspire you. It's amazing how they can be a lot braver, a lot wiser than those who have a lot of candles on their birthday cakes.

So here's a bit of kid-spiration I've had for the day, I'd like to share it, and I hope you'll listen. It's from a 13 year old boy who called a Houston Christian radio station KSBJ FM 89.3.

It's a short segment, take time out, and hopefully this warms you up.

it's been edited to add music and text onto the youtube vid. and i don't know, some doubt and say it might be scripted.

i don't care.

it's amazing anyway.
life
Delayed Gratification or Missed Opportunity?

How can you tell which is which? Err.

---------------------

"If you're the kind of person who has no guts, you just give up every time life pushes you. If you're that kind of person, you'll live all your life playing it safe, doing the right things, saving yourself for some event that never happens. Then, you die a boring old man. You'll have lots of friends who really like you because you were such a nice hardworking guy.

You spent life playing it safe, doing the right things.

But the truth is,
You let life push you into submission.

Deep down, you were terrified of taking risks. You really wanted to win, but the fear of losing was greater than the excitement of winning. Deep inside, you and only you will know you didn't go for it. You chose to play it safe."

- Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad", advice from the Rich Dad.
